EDUARD SHAKHIKIAN
Eduard Shakhikian was born in 1950 in Armenia, in the city
of Yerevan. He was studied and finished the Artistic - Theatrical
Institute of the sculpture department. Since 1988 he has been
the member of the artists society of the USSR (now AR).
Eduard Shakhikian is known as one the best modern Armenian
sculptor. The slight decorative plastic feeling is typical to
his activity. He has wide frame of interests and works in
different generous. His historical works are shown with deep
psychological portrait sculptures. Con textures are intellectual
and original with their ideas.
He has taken part in different republican, all union and
foreign countries' exhibitions (Hungary, Sudan, Switzerland,
USA, Italy, USSR).
Eduard Shakhikian's works are in the galleries of Armenia,
CIS and in Moscow Tretyackovsky gallery. He has taken part in
the universal Biennials devoted to Dante.
In 1998 he was entitled to the international prize of
golden "Drvaga" medal, given to the Armenian sculptors in the
city of Florence, where ha had shown high quality and
professional.
