The Center seeks to promote a world order in which the potential for conflict is minimized and the prospect for international and regional cooperation enhanced. Accordingly, it treats key policy matters in an anticipatory manner and from a long- range perspective, in order to study today the challenges that could be critical tomorrow and to avoid impulsive, situational policy options. The Center's approach emphasizes:

Strategic Analysis: The conduct of a comprehensive examination of the political, economic, social, and security dimensions of Armenian, regional, and global policy issues.
Contingency Planning: The consideration of a full spectrum of possible scenarios to invite preparedness for regional and international crises.
Integrative Programming: The encouragement of interaction and collaboration among departments and disciplines to create a consolidated research agenda.
Systems Outreach: The construction of information bridges in Armenia and around the world to ensure communication of the Center's recommendations to a global audience.
