AIM AND PURPOSE

The principal objective of the Armenian Center for National and International Studies is to serve as a link between innovative scholarship and the current and emerging public policy issues facing Armenia and the Armenian people in the post-Soviet world.

The Center is based on the belief that government policies, appropriately adopted and implemented, can make a difference and that the challenges of our times can be met with vision and reason. To this end, it is essential that all options be examined with intellectual integrity, that decisionmakers have balanced and unbiased information to make responsible choices for existing and proposed programs, and that the public be moved toward reasoned consensus.

By tracking world developments, building foundations of knowledge, shaping the public dialogue, and paving the way for prudent and effective solutions, the Center aspires to be a catalyst for creative, strategic thinking and a wider understanding of the new global environment, thus bearing on the pivotal short-term and long-term issues of our time.
