With its production capacity Agarak Copper-molybdenum combine is on the second place after Zangezour Copper-molybdenum combine in Armenia. It was operated in 1963 and had great achievements. Despite the fact that the combine had qualified personal with rich experience in 1990s the link break off with the former republics in the result of the collapse of the USSR caused serious problems in the combine. The enterprise was working with long stoppage. Problems rose concerning the marketing of the produce and the floating capital. The hard social situation, non-payment of salaries for months and the growing number of employees leaving their job made the government to find a way out. A program on collaboration between
Zangezour and Agarak Copper-molybdenum combines was worked out. The project implementation started on May 1, 2000. With administrative and engineering potential of Zangezour Copper-molybdenum combine the production capacity of Agarak Copper-molybdenum combine was restored.
   After the re-operation of the company the production amounts are increasing year by year providing the natural course of the production. The amount of the output has increased 2 times as compared with 2000. In 2002 1873 t ore has been processed. Production of molybdenum concentrate has reached up to 420 t and copper concentrate up to 3516 t. The output has made 2.4 milliard drams, which is 7 times more than the indicator in 1998.
   The combine involves 883 employees with average salary of 40.000 drams. Today social situation in Agarak is regulated. Emigration of employees from the combine has stopped.
The Agarak people are provided with permanent and high-paid job
