This chair is aimed at preparing professional artists of various specialities of Decorative - Applied Art. Now in the chair work such departments as: Ceramics, Applied Graphics, Carpet, Gobelin, before, also the departments of Glass and Metal figure process were in their full activities. In the basis of scientific - methodical activities of the tuition based on the rich inheritance of the national Armenian art is the foundation of the up-to-date technique and technological knowledge as well as the cultivation of nowadays national traditions. The latter gives professional quality of the work of artists. The graduates of this chair have represented the achievements of different spheres of Decorative - Applied Art both in the republic and in the international exhibitions and competitions for decades. Every year the graduates of Armenian Academy of Fine Arts fill the section of Decorative - Applied Art of the Artists Union of the Republic of Armenia, making a mighty and creative army of professional artists. Year by year together with their great achievements they have also developed light industry in the republic and out of it deserving great rewards. The head of this Chair is professor Leyloyan. Here teach such professors as: Elizaveta Grigorian, Lenmir Baghdasarian, Norayr Aghadjanian and others.
