1993. 175th Anniversary of Hovhannes Aivazovsky (1817-1900).

Hovhannes Aivazovsky (1817-1900) is a world famous sea-scape artist. A member of St.Petersburg, Rome, Florence, Stuttgart, Amsterdam Academies of Arts. His works are kept in the famous museums of the world. "Noah descending Ararat", 1889. Depicts a biblical episode cherished by the Armenian people. The painting kept in the National Galery of Armenia.

The various types of carts: carts with two wheels, four wheels and even the carts with spokes were found in Armenian territories (Nerkin Getashen, Lchashen) of bronze century. In Syunik mountain range there was discovered the image of the cart on the rock, which belonges to the 13-14th centuries B.C. Phaeton is the one of the types of carriages, which has an openning roof. The first phaeton in Armenia was produced by Leninakanþs factory in 20th of 20th century. From Russia the tyres were imported there, because the factory could not produce the all needed materials.

Edgar Chahine 1874-1947
Armenian artist. His works are the great creations of Armenian art and European painting of 20th century. He is the great master of carve. His works are presented in the NationalLibrary of Paris, Public museum of Venice and in the personal collection of the National Gallery of Armenia.

Hakob Gurjian 1881-1948
Armenian sculptor. He was the first who created the diverse genres of works. He endowed with the comprehensive content and an art generalizations. His works were presented in Paris, Tokyo, Oslo, New-York and other cities. He was participated in the Beauty arts of the National Association of Paris and other exhibitions. He created more than 300 works.

06.09.2004. FROM THE MUSEUMS OF ARMENIA (IV issue). MUSEUM OF RUSSIAN ART

The Museum of Russian Art in Yerevan is based on the collection of the honourable citizen of Moscow prof. Aram Abrahamian.
Exhibits of the Museum represent the most important period of painting, graphic and decorative art of Russia of the end of 19 and the beginning of 20cc. It was a unique, bright period, which determined the further development of Russian art and culture.

Alexander Shevchenko (1882-1948) Russian painter and drawer. Still life represents the period of author participation in the associations Donkey tail, N4, when painter applied to the Russian and Ukraine national traditions, such as the russian icon, miniature and national creations.

Konstantin Roudakov (1891-1949) Russian painter, an outstanding illustrator, brilliant painter, theatre scenographer and teacher. In 1928-32s he created a series of water-colour pictures and monotypes gathered by one subject. In a Restaurant was done by laconic style, which is peculiar for drawer.

10.05.2005. 125th ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF MARTIROS SARIAN MARTIROS SARIAN MUSEUM

Martiros Sarian (1880-1972)
Great Armenian painter, national painter of USSR , academic of the Academy of Science of SSRA (1956), the president of the Artist Union of SSRA (1945-51). During his creational life he resigned from the traditional mentality and created new and innovated art. In 1967 was open the Sarian_Museum in Yerevan , where were gathered the great part of his heritage. His personal exhibitions were held in Moscow (1902, 1956, 1961, 1964), Leningrad (1956), Tbilisi (1955, 1970), Paris (1928, 1980), Yerevan (1936, 1955, 1961, 1964, 1970) and other cities. Was awarded Order of Lenin and two other orders, also the State Prize of SSRA (1965).

05.10.2005. 1600th ANNIVERSARY OF INVENTION OF THE ARMENIAN ALPHABET

Armenian Alphabet was invented by Mesrop Mashtots in 405. Passed 4 stages. The first is the sounds invention, the second is graphic image of 36 letters, the third is alphabet formation, the fourth is creation of the first Armenian sentence. Alphabet invention had the following aims: 1. to use armenian language in the christian books, preachings and ceremonies 2. to create and develop literature by the mother language 3. to save armenians from assimilation and to insure that in future 4. to arm the unity of spiritual, lingual and cultural lives of the country which was politically separated at that time.
