It is  almost the fifth year that from the tenth till the eleventh of August a pilgrimage is organized to the Ukhtasar, which is situated in town of Sisian of Syunik region. The pilgrimage itself represents a trip from Sisian to “Zorach qarer” (the observatory of Karahundge, IV millennium), then to the Ukhtasar, where is resumed innumerable rock-sculptures created by the primitive man. Just here the ceremony is taking place.

The immersion of the painting and the painter in Water signifies a return to nonexistence, before there was fusion and shape, to the pre-existing formlessness.

       Emerging from the water mirrors the act of cosmic formation. When the shaman and the sacrifice (associated with the painter and the painting) are found in the same state, they become inseparable from each other and from the universe. Briefly staled, water symbolizes all possible things and is the axis of all-potential. Water simultaneously has no forms and no limits, yet possesses the foundation for all possible forms and manifestations, comprising all vital forces much like the mother womb.
